Our clinic in Smyth County, Virginia brought people from all over the country. Some came to volunteer, and some came to receive medical care.
First-time attendee, Karen Thayler, who resides in Cookeville, Tennessee, was in attendance in hopes of receiving some vital dental work. She stated that her dental insurance was just not very good.
Karen had received a teeth cleaning the day we spoke and stated she would be back the next day to get some fillings. Karen heard about the clinic through a friend who attended the Cookeville, Tennessee clinic and thought she would like to check it out for herself.
She arrived around eight o’clock in the morning to get in line and was seen by noon that day. When asked about her experience she said, “I think it was awesome! They were very professional.”
Karen also had good things to say about the volunteers at the clinic, saying, “Everybody has just been awesome! I will come back again.”
Whether it be the RAM® staff or the volunteers, people like Karen make holding clinics such a great experience. Seeing a person who may have been anxious about attending a clinic walk out with a smile on their face makes it all worth it.
Thank you to all the donors out there who make this experience and others like it possible for people like Karen. Without you there would be no RAM.
