HAITI Road and Airstrip Construction - Updated February 2012
RAM's progress toward providing free air ambulance service for the people of Medor is slow. Our efforts to secure the proper permissions from Haitian flight operations officials, the National Airport Authority, and various Cabinet Ministries are ongoing. In spite of slow progress, we are committed to establishing a free air ambulance program and youth development presence in Haiti.

SUMMARY OF DECEMBER 2010 and JANUARY 2011 EXPEDITIONS
In January 2011, a small RAM team returned to Haiti to test the airstrip built a month before in the mountain community of Medor. Two landings, rough, short, but successful, were recorded by an NBC film crew for an NBCDateline episode which aired January 9, 2011.
The creation and repair of roads and an airstrip in Medor that were completed in December 2010 and tested in January 2011 will allow for an air ambulance program, which will make possible the efficient delivery of medical teams as well as emergency patient evacuation.
